trustee matching

Three people working together

Our free trustee matching service, similar to our skills sharing/mentoring service, facilitates the sharing of experience and knowledge between charities. What makes it unique, as implied by its title, is that it is specifically aimed at trustees to discuss governance related matters outside of their board.

This can be on equal footing to share best practice, or can work as a mentor to mentee relationship, involving trustees with different levels of experience. In keeping with our ethos of skills sharing, when you sign up we will ask you to list your skills and experience as a trustee to see if one day you will be able to help out another trustee in return.

So whether you’re an old hand at governance in charities, completely new to the area or something in between, if you would like contact with another trustee, this is the service for you!

how it works

Here is a diagram of how the process works. Below you will find links to more detailed guidelines and instructions for how to sign up.

This is an image to demonstrate how the trustee matching process works. The stages are: You complete a match, we search for a trustee, we find a suitable trutsee, we send you the matching documents (agreement, stages, action plan), we put you in touch for an initial conversation, you decide whether or not to proceed and agree to the match, the match begins, we keep in touch, finally the match is complete and we evaluate it.
