These are exciting times for the Small Charities Coalition and we are looking for committed and enthusiastic individuals to help with the valuable work that we do. Volunteers may choose to take on a number of volunteer roles, and all roles can cover more general administrative duties.

 

Position: Chairperson
Location: Meetings typically in Central London

We are looking for an experienced and committed individual to join us as Chair and lead the charity. The Chair provides committed leadership to the Board and ensures a constructive working relationship with the chief executive. You will have a strong commitment to the mission, aims and values of the charity as well as proven leadership skills.

You are expected to attend four trustee meetings a year, plus sub-committees and there will be opportunities to work with our staff team and represent the charity externally.

Terms last 3 years and out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed.

We are particularly looking for people of lived experience - be that protected characteristics or an individual?s experience - or those that have a professional background in any of the following areas: governance, communications, corporate, membership and policy.

Deadline for applications are 24 June 2016. We aim to make appointments at our July and October 2016 trustee meetings.

Position: Trustee
Location: Meetings typically in Central London

We are looking for new trustees from a broad range of backgrounds to join us at this exciting time of growth and development for the charity.

You are expected to attend four trustee meetings a year, plus sub-committees and there will be opportunities to work with our staff team and represent the charity externally.

Terms last 3 years and out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed.

We are particularly looking for people of lived experience - be that protected characteristics or an individualís experience - or those that have a professional background in any of the following areas: governance, communications, corporate, membership and policy.

Position: Research Volunteer
Location: London (Elephant and Castle) 
Hours: At least 1 day per week (ideally more)

The Chief Executive is looking for some support on an IT project and is looking for a volunteer to help him with data research and auditing work. He is looking for someone that has a meticulous eye for detail, is comfortable working on Excel and confident researching using the internet. He would like the person to start a.s.a.p. and the work will last throughout the summer. Duration and hours flexible to meet individual needs.

This is an unpaid position but out-of-pocket expenses (e.g. travel and lunch) are reimbursed.

Position: Marketing Volunteer
Location: London (Elephant and Castle) 
Hours: 1+ days per week

We are looking to recruit a committed, reliable and proactive Marketing Volunteer to assist with the delivery of a promotional project and ongoing marketing and communications work. This exciting membership growth and engagement project involves the dissemination of a digital and hard copy information booklet highlighting the work and services offered by Small Charities Coalition. The aim of this project is to increase our reach to thousands more isolated small charities across the UK that need our support.

There is definite scope for this role to continue beyond the duration of this project.

This is an unpaid position but out-of-pocket expenses (e.g. travel and lunch) are reimbursed.

Position:  Policy Volunteer
Location: Elephant and Castle, London
Hours: 1+ days per week

We are looking to recruit a Policy Volunteer to help support and deliver the policy activities of the Small Charities Coalition. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the charity sector, gain experience in charity infrastructure policy and advocacy, and make a difference to the work of hundreds of small charities and their beneficiaries.

This is an unpaid position but out-of-pocket expenses (e.g. travel and lunch) are reimbursed.
